Truth (Wikipedia definition)
The word truth has a variety of meanings, from honesty, good faith, and sincerity in general, to agreement with fact or reality in particular. The term has no single definition about which a majority of professional philosophers and scholars agree, and various theories of truth continue to be debated. There are differing claims on such questions as what constitutes truth; what things are truthbearers capable of being true or false; how to define and identify truth; the roles that revealed and acquired knowledge play; and whether truth is subjective, relative, objective, or absolute.
Fact (Wikipedia definition)
A fact is a pragmatic truth, a statement that can, at least in theory, be checked and either confirmed or denied. Facts are often contrasted with opinions and beliefs, statements which are held to be true, but are not amenable to pragmatic confirmation or denial.
This site is dedictated to the pursuit of a higher understanding of the universe in which we live. The vision is to promote informed debate based on reason and observation as opposed to conjecture and belief. I would like to encourage specialists in scientific fields to share both what they know and what they don't know. For example a specialist in the field of quantum mechanics might debate a point based on the premise that a quantum particle can simultaneously exist in 2 separate locations; It would be illuminating to understand in detail from such a specialist the observational evidence that supports this premise.
Based on independent research I have published on this site an alternative interpretation of the consequences of Special Relativity. I would welcome reviews of this theory from anyone working in the field of theoretical physics.
I welcome all serious contributors to this endlessly fascinating quest.
